Meet Allison

Welcome, friend! I’m so glad you’re here.

I grew up as the nerdy kid at school eating sandwiches made from homemade whole wheat bread long before it was popular. I envied my friends their chips and juice pouches, but dutifully drank my thermos of milk. We also had a garden, rarely went to the doctor, and took vitamins that weren’t just cartoon characters.

So you can say that I grew up with a more natural mindset that has followed me through the years. Going to nursing school gave me a good appreciation for health as well as a background in looking at research and decoding it. When my kids were young, I was the breastfeeding, cloth diapering (part-time), co-sleeping, baby wearing mom. Over the years, I’ve started to look at all aspects of my life through a more natural lens, yet realistically and without extremes.

One of the areas I’ve started working on lately is skincare. Over the past several years, I’ve been choosing products with less harmful ingredients in them. Recently I discovered a skincare line with a commitment to organic ingredients that gives real results. I’ve had fun learning about skincare and want to share what I’ve learned.

Speaking of learning, as I said earlier, I’ve always been quite a bit of a nerd. I love learning about things and figuring them out. Having started my own business, I’ve had to learn a lot of new technology and I also enjoy sharing the tips and lessons I’ve learned with you!

FAQ

I am new to the blogging world, but so excited to learn another aspect of running an online business and the opportunities that it will bring!

A mompreneur is a woman who is balancing her roles of mother and business owner. This can be traditional brick and mortar, service based, online, the sky’s the limit! I tend to focus on social selling and network marketing businesses since that is what I know best, but a lot of the information can be adapted for any type of business.

I recommend starting with what you have! Using your phone camera and natural light can go a long way! A cheap tripod from Amazon isn’t bad to have. I believe everyone should have a Canva account. It’s free! Starting with these things will get you going in no time at all.

You can follow me on any of my social media channels for tips, tricks, and tutorials. I also have a newsletter with lots of great information. Digital courses will be coming soon, so make sure you get on my list for first access!

If you want to work with me on my Olive Tree People team, I’m looking for women who are in search of a great community, are willing to work for what you want, and are coachable. Click here to learn more.
